Larnaca is one of Cyprus's easiest city calls: its working port lies north of the marina, about 1.2 km from the main promenade and roughly 2 km from the historic centre. Walk or take a short taxi to Finikoudes, Saint Lazarus Church, the medieval castle and the Pierides Museum. With four or more hours, the salt lake and Hala Sultan Tekke make the best nearby extension; Lefkara and Choirokoitia reward a longer, pre-arranged day.

The city stands over ancient Kition, a major Bronze Age and Phoenician centre.
Saint Lazarus is traditionally believed to have lived in Kition after his resurrection and served as its bishop.
The salt lake is a 1,761-hectare protected wetland and has been a Ramsar site since 2001.
Finikoudes and the old centre form the low-risk walking core. The salt lake lies southwest of town, while the mountain-foot village of Lefkara and UNESCO-listed Choirokoitia require a road transfer and a generous return buffer.
